When I first discover literacy.

What is literacy? Literacy is when you starting how to read and write. We apply our literacy on a regular basis by reading a book for a day and writing about what you read. You got to apply steps so you can be a good reader and a good writer. Literacy roots were planted on me when I was five years old or even when I was four. I used to watch Barney and Arthur so I can learn how to read books and write. The first book that was read to me was cat and the hat book. So I would memorize the words that are in the book. Then I would apply myself to read it on my own. My preschool teacher would make us trace the words out on the paper and read it to us. That’s when I first thought about reading and writing.

The person that influenced me was my kindergarten teacher. She would always read us funny books. When I was younger I thought that books were boring especially the one with no pages. My teachers taught me that even though they don’t have any pictures don’t mean the book is not interesting. My first experience with reading was trying to read one of Dr.Seuss books. It was hard for me because I had a speech problem certain words I could not say. My favorite nursery rhymes were Mother Goose; there was an Old Woman who lives in a Shoe, and Humpty Dumpty.

The elementary school I attend to was Urban Promise, Camden Forwards. When I was in elementary school the book that got my attention was two of a kind that was talking about Mary Kate and Ashley the Olsen twins. When I was in the second grade I didn’t really read that much so I started in the third grade to start reading two of a kind. Nope there wasn’t a teacher that develops me to read. I wanted to read on my own, because it looks interesting to me. When I was in Elementary school we didn’t really read a lot basically we had to learn how to write first in cursive letters and print when I was in the second grade. My school was a Christian school so we would talk about the bible and God. Are main focus was on learning about God when I was in Elementary.

The middle schools I attend Urban Promise, Camden Forward, East Camden Middle, and Morgan Village Middle School. In 6th grade I went to Camden Forward but my parents took me out, because that school wasn’t teaching me anything. So my 7th grade year I went East Camden middle school. I exactly learn more stuff about reading and writing that I was behind in my English class. My 8th grade year I transfer to Morgan Village middle school. I was still horrible in English but in the 4 marking period I got better and made honor roll. My favorite author in middle school was Sharon M. Draper. The genre that I liked is still the same but some book I can’t read, because they have bad ending. I liked Romance, Mystery, and Vampires book.

The books I hope to read in high school are more Sharon M. Draper books, because I like the way she write her story. Her story can happen in real life it’s not make believe and that’s why she my favorite author. More Stephenie Meyer books because even though they have movie for twilight I rather read. The book is better than movie because in the movie they don’t show and say everything that was in the book. Other text I like to read is Magazines Newspapers especially comics. I don’t consider myself a literate person because I get off task a lot. In my opinion a literate person is someone who read on a daily basis and they pick up on what they read. They can give you a summary about what they read so you can be interested in it and that’s not me at all.

This moment I am feeling that I should read on a daily basis so I can be a literate person. The book I’m reading is none but I would like to read Eclipse and Breaking down by Stephenie Meyers. Literacy is important because where ever you go you going to have to read and comprehend what they are telling you in case of an emergency. Literacy helped me become a better reader and it made reading more fun for me. Literacy is a tree because it just keeps going on me until ill die. I’m going to keep reading, learning, and understanding what I’m reading when I get older in life.

Mr. Grouch

Mr Grouch can be a funny person sometimes
but Mr. Grouch has a temper problem.
Some students that know Mr. Grouch don't like him because he is kind of rude to them. In my opinion i think he cool but he just need to take a chill pill sometimes. The reason why i said this is because he takes things to personal. Mr. Grouch is a funny guy but the students just got to get to know Grouchy better.
